I use honeychop lite and healthy but had heard of this (I think it's new) but put off as I try to keep my mare off alfalfa. My mare is barefoot and I really rate the lite and healthy. Is that one no good?

Yes me too. I’d feed it if it wasn’t for that. The light is not really any use as he’s TB and every bit of condition helps!

ahh I wondered if you were feeding a non native! Barefoot diet is so much easier to do when it's keeping weight off that is the issue - not putting it on!

Could you add linseed to something like lite and healthy (as in something low sugar/starch and no alfalfa) for a bit of added condition but still barefoot friendly?

I took him off Linseed as he was very stupid on it! replaced it with Copra but might have to add in a little again especially for the Omega 3 now there’s not very much grass.

I give it to WonkyMare, she's barefoot and non-ridden, but just needs that little bit extra over winter. She likes it, and it doesn't have too much Alfalfa in it, but then she's not affected by it anyway.

I bought some when i couldn’t get lite and healthy anywhere.
it reminded me very much of the old Molly chop I used as a kid. Can’t say I rated it much, it just looked like rubbish.
Horses loved it the few days I had to feed it them.
