Have you ever done this to a rider? For the first time ever I flashed my lights at a rider and came close to doing horn too.

Riding down the middle white line on a straight two lane country road at lunch time. Glanced behind at me and carried on. I sat about 3 car lengths behind, music off figuring that there must be a good reason she was sat in the middle (even though it was wide and plenty of passing areas) so I gave her the benefit of the doubt.

We then get up towards a crossroads where she stops still on the middle line and starts chatting up some guys doing some work at a house. No indication of moving anytime soon and very definitely flirting as had my windows down.

So I pulled up to about a car length behind her and after another minute or so of clear ignoring me and knowing full well I was there I lost my rag and flashed her, she glared at me and then turned left from the middle line.

I probably could have got past her to go straight over, but was not going to put myself in that situation close to the horse because she'd parked up in the middle and started flirting.

I genuinely didn't think I'd ever do this to a rider but was fuming at her arrogance. The riders in a very small area local to me seem to do everything possible to create a dangerous/wind up situation on the roads.

No but I did once get very cross with a group of riders who totally ignored me and several other cars on a pretty busy road just outside a village but quite happily took thier hands off the reins to wave to a friend who was passing in a car going in the opposite direction. I was livid!

I never understand people like that!

I managed to miss the thing that wound me up the most out... when I got to about a car length away I got an impatient 'I'm busy' wave. So aside from a glance at me definitely knew I was there!

I go mad on acknowledging someone is behind me, pulling right in and thanking. Most in our area do the same and drivers are very considerate in the main. But people not tolerant of riders meeting this girl would have had everything affirmed. There is definitely a small pocket of numpties by me.

:o i have pipped my horn in greeting at a friend without thinking :o luckily his horse didn't bat an eye and i apologised until i was blue in the face while said friend laughed at me!
in your case Pan i would have taken a few pics on my phone and then shouted out the window for her to move her ignorant arse out of my way!!

:D How hilarious.

All mine are horn friendly - which is annoying when in the pick-up trying to clear them off. They are all adament that windscreen wipers will kill them though, so I never do wipers when near riders!

I will bear that in mind in future :D It did also cross my mind to whack my music back on, but didn't want to cause an accident, just as you say, get her to move her ignorant arse!

I di once stop, having passed two girls crossing over a motorway bridge, to firstly compliment them on the amount of Hi-Viz they were wearing, and to then tear them a right strip off, for not acknowleging the six drivers who had held back to allow them to get over the bridge safely.

Good on you YG. I didn't bother with this one, far too annoyed. I've stopped previously to let two riders know that riding across the full road on a blind hill wasn't wise... they'd not realised that they disappeared from view at any point as was a long open road and thanked for the heads up.

It's a good job my friend is so understanding!:o When i liveried on the farm i had to drive past his house on my way there, quite often he would be just getting into his car or standing chatting so i would beep and wave, became a habit!! If he had his back to me i would wait until i was right behind him then give a real blast on the horn to see how high i could make him jump:D good job i didn't do that while he was riding:eek:
