I need padded hoof boots for a horse very sore on his feet due to an abscess and paring. Must stay on in the field, horse has quite round feet. just need one boot but it just needs to have nice supportive gentle padding inside-any suggestions? The soft ride ones I would like aren't available in the UK and are a bit pricey.
Thanks!

My boy had an abscess a couple of years back. I used an Old Mac G2, which was 1 size too big for that foot ordinarily, with a foam pad in the base, over his poultice and bandage. Worked a treat, everything stayed in place, he was comfortable and no rubbing. OMG2s are suitable for round feet but are sold in pairs and are quite pricey too. Could try eBay for a bargain single? Or Cavellos which are also suitable for round feet and cheaper than G2s?

How big's the foot?

Have yet to measure it, guessing in the large sizes, 17hh with normal sporthorse feet, thanks, old macs gs are what I'm leaning towards!

If his hooves are flattish and round, Boa boots work very well indeed. Never had a problem with them and really like the dial tightener as I have arthritis in a couple of my finger joints

Phone The Saddlery Shop with the hoof measurements in mm.

There are non-riding hoof boots that would be suitable and you can buy seperate gel pads/inserts if required.
