I have just bought some cavallo sports boots for my horse. We rode in them for the first time yesterday and they are fantastic! She is so comfortbale in them and I worry less about the ground etc :)

They came with the cavallo leg wrap/chap things, I managed to get them on and then the boots on fine but I found that by the time we got back they had moved and scrunched up and to be honest, there wasn't much point in them being on by the end as her bulb was exposed to the boot anyway!

What does everyone use with their hoof boots? I have heard lots of people say they dont like the cavallo ones, so what do people use instead?

Any advice would be great :D

I just got some cavallo boots too but the simple version. I used them this weekend with the pastern wraps and mine didn't move at all, however the gel pad did twist round, not sure how that happened.

I just made sure the wraps were far enough down to cover the bulbs and made sure I didn't knock them when I put the boots over the top although I can see how they would easily move.

I didn't have any problems with the gel pads at all, but then the Sports boots are slightly narrower from what I have read so that could be why I didn't have that problem?

I have had a look on different forum posts about it and the majority of people suggest Mens socks, I think it is a really good idea so I am going to get some and try them! Although not too sure which type of sock to go for and if they go right over the whole hoof or you whether I would need to cut the toes so it fits better? I guess it will be a case of trial and error!
