Ive just bought some hoof boots. Their Boa ones. Havent tried them on yet

I was just wondering about the pads and gaiters? Do I need them, or can the boots be used without?

No recent experience of Boa but Cavallo can be used with or without.
I did borrow a horse once who had what I think were Boa boots and I don't recall fitting pads or gaiters (although pads may have already been in).

You wlill probably need the gaiters for the Boas, they have a "tongue" at the front that protects the foot from the dial at the front. They are quite hard. I have them for my little NF and they suit him well, however I have heard that they can bruise the foot if too tight or they are ridden in them for a long time. ( I've never had a problem while riding with the gaiters )

I buy the Easycare ones from here;

Thank you Angie. I will buy those (once Ive checked the boots fit)
Do you ride without pads in yours? Or does the bottom of that gaiter work as a pad??
