I just bought some hoofboots for my pony as she's barefoot and I'm riding the south downs way for charity at the end of July, to help stop her feet being too worn down.

Now it just occured to me, she suffers quite a lot with the concusision from the hard ground, she's very sensitive to it. I'm show jumping tomorrow on grass (we had some rain this morning so it shouldn't be too hard, just quite firm)

But I was wondering, would the concussion be reduced even further if she's wearing hoofboots?

We've got old mac boots.

And nooo thats exactly why we took the shoes off! So her frog can absorb the concussion. I don't mean like her feet wear away, she's pretty tough, but she gets splints just from in the field. I'm dead careful and never canter or jump her on hard ground but she's got very high knee action..
