Hoof Boots for elephant hooves.......

need some hoof boots for mahoosive hooves, tank has had a bout of lami and we are booting and padding once we are aloud out of stable......they are 7 1/2 inches wide and the same long....he is too big for the cavellos which my other has got but doing my research boa boots would fit him but would come off in a lot of mud.

he wont be doing any field work for a while until he is fit enough but would like to know if there are any out there like the cavellos for big hooves that would cope with a lot of work.

I love my cavellos, and they come up pretty big. Sooooooooo easy to put on.

am just sending back the size six cavellos as they are just not wide enough for him.....

I have found these at I think I will give a go, it says not for riding but I think light work i.e walk and a bit of trot when he is comeing back into work would be fine in a school.

I don't think I'd risk riding in the RXs - I don't think the sole would stand up to riding on a hard surface, they're really only intended for hoof treatment/rehab.

Old Macs have recently brought out even larger sizes, they are usually the best boot for horses with big feet. Have a look at e.g. Hoofbootique or Cannock Chase Equine, both run by people who are excellent at advising best boot for specific applications.

HEre's the size chart from Cannock Chase - they still have Boas in stock, but Easyboot Epic and Bare also come up to similar sizes...

thanks....they need to be supportive and be able to have pads in.....I wouldn't ride in the rx on hard ground....just school which is a nice soft surface but if I can find an alternative I will. tho it looks like it would be a few months until he would be up to any riding.
