I need something to protect my mini's feet from grit when he's being exercised.

I've thought of socks or vet wrap but think it might wear through whilst he's out, so if anyone has any suggestions or knows if they make tiny hoof boots I'd be grateful.

Thank you.

Thank you for the links amandap, however he does have tiny feet so I'll take some measurements but I do think I may have trouble with sizing.

I have one 2 1/2x 2 3/4 inches. lol Some of the lace up ones would fit my pony but I haven't splashed out as they don't look very substantial. I have managed with taped on pads but only needed them when she has has acute laminitis. She's fine out and about when recovered.

Crikey that's tiny! I haven't measured yet but I guess mine's not much bigger.

Mine doesn't have lami but I lead him out from another horse a few times a week and the farrier's a bit concerned about grit getting into his foot & causing a problem - he dug out quite a pocket of grit yesterday.

I think they'll need to be quite substantial because he does about an hour 4 times a week, not all road but certainly a high percentage of road. I'll measure this morning & then start looking.

Thanks again.

OK, don't laugh ;) but word on the streets says that the teddybear boots from BuildABear shops are perfect size for minis... you can even get ones with studs for better grip ;)

I've actually seen this Brightbay - I'm sure my ridden horse would be too embarrassed to go out with him, but apart from that I'm not sure how tough they would be.

I know this is an old post but I'm wondering what happened? I have the same problem. My mare has soft hooves and is undergoing treatment but we have a drive on Sunday and I really want to go but obviously if it is going to hurt her I cant.
