I have just bought a pair of easy boot trails for my horse who hates being shod. He has only had them on for an hour whilst being turned out so far so he gets used to them before I start working him in them. He seemed completely comfortable in them and they are really easy and quick to put on and take off.
i have a pair of boa boots and i may be the only one who finds this but they are sooooo hard to get on and the wires break on them quite easily... i have given up with them so im looking for a different pair at the moment so i will watch this thread
Stormymoments, no, Ive had a look at the boa boots in a shop and thought they seemed very difficult to work, and thats without even trying them on a horse!
Im possibly in the market for a pair of boots if I can get some of those ones that look really easy to fit, if he turns out not to fit into those Id rather not bother with the faffy ones.
eta Cavallo sport and easy boot trails are the ones Ive been looking at.
I have one in Easy boot back country's very easy to put on all bits replaceable so I am pleased with them .
One in Boa's which I hated when I tried them on another horse but on this one they are easy to get on and fit brilliantly he did two hours hound exercising in them last week they never moved .
He wears easy bboots behind a nightmare to get on and off but they do the job
Another is in old mac 2's they are huge clumpy things I put pop socks under them and the straps padded with vet wrap they are easy to fit and do the job but the horse feels likes he's got a bag of sand round his feet and they rub if you dont do the pop sock , padding thing , but they mean I can get him out so I should not complain.
GS do those Easy boot back country boots open right out so they go on easily? Thats one of my prime requirements, ease of use, so Im interested in how they fit.
My lad had Old Macks for six years, they were fine. I have just replaced them with Gloves, he no longer stomps when his boots first go on which he always did in the Old Macs. They are a tight fit and I have to rasp his feet between trims to be able to fit them, he is trimmed very six weeks. but I am very pleased with them, someone on the yard said " he has trainers now instead of walking boots"
Currently we have easy boot gloves on the back and bares on the front. Will change to gloves on the front when he has grown a well connected hoof all the way down and we have no flare!
