just brought some as my horse keeps casting a shoe in the mud.
Now for the technical bit, do i put a boot on both the fronts even though he has lost just one shoe, or do i just put a boot on the hoof without a shoe.

I use my old macs all the time when out on a ride and only have them on my boys front two feet.
I will not matter putting them on over the shoe and the one without the shoe....it is cushioned inside so it will only effect that....the leveling will be the same on the road/field surface...
they are brilliant...just make sure you do them up tightly around the backs as they may chaff at the top of his hoof slightly if loose....
Maybe use these in the future rather then having shoes....they are really good and non-slip....great for the winter time....
highly recommended in my opion...
have fun

Hoof boots should only be used on a 'naked' hoof.

If, say, you lost a front, only put the boot on the naked hoof. If you put it on the shod hoof the horse would be unbalanced.
