Hi, I've bought Cavallo hoof boots, size 4, for my mare, just for the front. When we hack in them they turn round slightly and i'm worried about them rubbing her heels. Anything I've read says that they are too big, but the size 3 doesn't fit - I can't get her hoof into it!!

Any advice?

Did you buy them from one of the well known sellers/fitters e.g. Hoofbootique or The Saddlery Shop? If so I'd get back to them for advice and they can probably advise you even if you didn't purchase from them. I'm guessing if you've bought new you probably don't want to shell out on a different brand if it's possible to get these to fit comfortably.

Yes and they fit perfectly on the sole, can't get her feet into the size 3. They start perfectly and then rotate a bit

Try boots pads they are very good and will help, other wise a thick pair of socks , they helped my friend when this happened , the only thing is you probably need another pair after a couple of rides.

Have you tried with Cavallo gaitors?

I must admit, I love my Cavallo boots and they've never turned, twisted or come off. But I did send all the sizing to Hoof Bootique who recommended them to me based on his measurements.

Thanks, I tried on two sizes and got my farrier to check them today. The 3 definitely won't fit as he'd have too much to trim off her feet, so said the 4 and suggested a sock too. Thanks

Yes, bought the Pastern Wraps. They stayed put for a short while. I also got the boot pads, they've helped a bit, but today I had to take the boot off and put on again, as it had completely twisted round.
