Does anyone know if hoof grown is affected by the season?

I have noticed that during the summer my horses feet seem to grow alot quicker than in the winter, or is it my imagination?

i normally get mine shod every 7 weeks but really her feet look fine, how long do yours normally go?

I might just wait a week or so then

Usually every 8 weeks but (im assuming because of christmas) my farrier hasnt been for 10! Im changing farrier as I cant get in touch with him (have been trying for ages) - although her hooves have only just started to look like they need doing

I have been wondering about this lately. I am waiting for hoof cracks to grow out and have been told by farrier and vet that they will take longer as it is winter but should grow out quicker in the spring. BUT i wondered if, a vit and min supplement is fed and if a horse lives out all year surely nothing really changes, same amount of exercise to 'work' the hooves and similar level of vits and mins. Any thoughts ?
