I'm sure there are loads of threads about this but my mobile isn't allowing me to search..... all 3 of my horses have very slow hoof growth. They are all on balanced fibre based diets and have good grazing. The 2 TBs are shod, the WB is 'barefoot'. The quality of the hoof is good, they just don't grow much ! What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions welcome...thanks.

All 3 have had foot x rays, 1 TB has a chipped pedal bone (old injury) and is in remedial shoes to relieve potential issues, other TB is shod 'normally' but foot balance x rays reveal pedal bones are slightly lower angle than perfect. This is being addressed but careful trimming when foot growth allows. WB has psd in both hinds and pedal bones are angled more backwards than normal...he was in graduated shoes for a number of years, but he decided to remove 3 shoes 1 go along with a large amount of hoof, so I bit the bullet and left all shoes off....he has been barefoot for 4 months, and has regrown minimal hoof, but what has grown is more balanced than before( more heel which will help his balance )
