Whole dang bottle of the wretched stuff spilled into my box. All my good (and some new) brushes and combs were completely covered in it. I’ve washed everything multiple times with fairy but it’s still all sticky and greasy 😢

Any helpful tips or am I going to loose everything and have to go shopping (ooohhh nnoooooo)

I think it might be necessary to soak it all in a solvent, maybe even petrol, and then in clothes wash detergent to get the petrol out. Getting it off might also loosen the glue in the brushes though.

What bad luck.

I have washing powder to hand and sugar soap, so they will be my first tries…if they fail I’ll maybe try petrol just purely for experimental purposes!

Never buying hoof oil again. I don’t even use it so I don’t know why I had it in there 😂

Couple of dishwasher tablets in a sink of very hot water, leave your combs and brushes in it until cool enough to hand wash with rubber gloves on. Might have to repeat a couple of times. Worth trying before you throw them, good luck 🤞

Automotive brake cleaner will get it off I'd have thought. You can get it from Amazon/ebay or a car parts retailer.
I was just going to type this, brake cleaner ought to work a treat. That's removed just about everything from carpets here.
WD40 also quite good too I find (for oily marks that husband occasionally makes in the house, when I can't find the brake cleaner spray)
