Hoof oil stain on breeches!!! Removal tips please

Not sure if it will work with hoof oil, but to get grease stains out, like butter or oil or similar, I put talc powder or flour over the stain as it draws out the oil.

As an art teacher I am used to removing all sorts of stains, I would also go for washing up liquid ( no brand specified ;) ) I would rub some gently into the stain, then wash with your usual powder with a drop of said washing up liquid added. Has worked on other greasy stuff.

Swarfega rubbed into the 'dry' stain then put breeches into the washing machine with bio detergent if poss. I've used this successfully on lots of grease stains, even quite old ones. Be generous and really rub it in.

Agree as a food tech teacher, washing up liquid, I always have that at work!

Couple of years ago brought a ruined hacking jacket covered in hoof oil, child had worn it for the class then shoved it down in lorry, put grooming box on top and hoof oil spilt.

Paid £28 for coat, took it to professional dry cleaners, £5 later sold jacket on with no marks for £90
