My geldings front & rear shoes have been removed and he is very sore! Shoes can't go back on so I need some sort of pad I can duct tape or apply to his feet so he's ableTo Walk...I have Bought him hoof boots but can only leave them on for 20mins - to break them in! Any ideas?!?! Am really desperate to help him :-( x

Cheap option would be exercise/yoga/camping mats. You can get them from places like Wilkinsons/B&'s/Home Bargains for a couple of quid. Just cut them up to hoof-shape & gaffa tape them on :)

depending on the condition of the horse's feet - which I don't know enough about - yoga and camping mats are not always thick or conformable enough.

I'd second the equinepodiatrysupplies website.

What is the original problem? Why can't the shoes go back on?

Be warned all the barefoot only peeps will come to this thread and try convince you to stay barefoot :)

How clever of you to know exactly what other posters will say.

I don't think there are any 'barefoot only peeps' on this forum .

The OP has said the shoes can't go back on .

Scratch that, I found the thread with all the advice on the 10th June.

Did you find anyone to come out to you? Perhaps casts might be the way forward if you can find someone to put them on for you?
