As above, though the toe has been bevelled right back to try to improve the breakover, so the trimmer is likely aware. Definitely needs watching to see that the toe doesn't run away.
Agree. You can see the digital cushion has bulked up but I'd like to see the hoof wall at the top coming down at a slightly steeper angle. Keep taking pictures so you can assess if the toe is starting to run away at all.
Thanks everyone, will definitely keep an eye. We are doing little and often on the trim so will be watching carefully, and taking photos as we go.
Horse is much, much sounder than when it arrived. At first it couldn’t put any weight into the heel. We do know we have a long way to go, and we have both vet and EP supervision but when you look at them every day, it’s often hard to see things objectively. It’s always great to have outside eyes on them.
Toes are an illusion, the place where they actually bear weight is way back from the forward edge. Trimmer has preserved hoof wall thickness while bringing back the breakowver. Job well done.
