My horse usually gets cracked heels so I normally just apply some sudacream and up until now that has worked great. Before I rode he was fine. When I was riding he did not feel sore. Once finished riding I went to pick out his feet again to get out any dirt and I notice right up the centre of his frog and heel was cracked and opened which dirt and grass managed to get stuck in. He is not in any pain and I cleaned it all out and put antiseptic cream and a poltus on (sorry if that is spelt wrong) to stop any shavings getting in it. He had his shoes done done 2 days a go and to be honest my horse is a particular favourite of the farriers so I'm sure he would of notice if there was anything concerning looking. Any suggestions on what I should do ? Should I be worried ? The farrier usually takes a couple of days notice before he can make it out and I can't really afford costly vet call out bills if it is nothing to concerning. Thanks
