Hoof problems - please help!

I don't know what this is and if you could please help it'd be much appreciated,
Its got a slightly swollen ring around it but the hoof is not hot and hes not lame and I dont know wether to worry about it or not, is it just a bruise or similar?

Stop worrying

It's an injury to the coronet band that happened a couple of weeks ago and is now growing out.

Oh yes, just crack on. In time it will travel all the way down the foot and disappear

It could have been caused either by a small abscess, or by him, or another horse, knocking the coronet band. But it was at least two weeks ago and it won't cause any harm now. One of mine has a worse one where he crowded his mate and was trodden on, and he wasn't ever lame either.
