Hoof problems

My connemara horse keeps on and on losing shoes. I have done all the normal things a horse person would do to keep them on, including keeping him in, biotin, diet etc. Does anyone know of any good equ boots that I could ride him in, until his feet settle in his new home. I have had him for 8 weeks. Thankyou

Thankyou for your reply, he is 6 years old, and his feet seem fine to look at. The farrier says they are ok. Maybe its because he has come from Dorset, where it was flat and dry, and is now living in the peak district, where it is very hilly and wet.

Oatfeed (by-product of the oat-milling industry), Wheatfeed, Micronised Wheat, Nutritionally Improved Straw, Extracted Sunflower Meal, Molasses, Grassmeal, Calcium Carbonate, Soya Oil, Sodium Chloride, Vitamins and Minerals, Calcined Magnesite


He needs low sugar and low starch. Nothing with added molasses, or with grass meal, brewers grains etc etc.

Fast Fibre would be more suitable along with a good mineral supp such as Pro Balance or Forage Plus.

thankyou for your reply. I have not heard of fast fibre, or pro balance, so would appreciate any information on these foodstuffs. Cheers.
 
fast fibre is produced by allen and page, you soak it for a minute or so before feeding and it is about as low cal/low sugar as you can get. We feed it to our too :)

I'm not sure on the supplements I'm afraid as we tested our grass and feed to that.
