I've used Pro Earth for years with no issues at all getting them to eat it.

I used equimmins for a few months and whilst they did eat it it had to be introduced very gradually and is quite strong smelling.

That’s disappointing. Was going to go with Pro earth. Are the two products more or less just as effective as each other? My TB has terrible feet.

The equimins was recommended to me on here - in the Veterinary section. Apparently a lot of barefooters use it. It has the right dose of copper and zinc for hoof health apparently as well as loads of other good stuff. I'm using it for one horse that has crumbly feet and another pre-emptively so he doesn't develop crumbly feet. It's too early to say if it is effective but they do wolf it down in plan chaff so that's one hurdle

Ok that’s very interesting. I hadn’t considered Equimins and know nothing about it. I will look it up tonight. Thanks a mill!

A lot of us use equimins advanced complete. The main issue is that the magnesium isn't that high but it is easy to supplement with that on it's own.

I keep looking at Equimins but get really frustrated that I can't work out how much actual copper and zinc is in it due to the way it's labelled up on the nutritional analysis. Also, do you think the methionine and lysine are a bit low compared to some of the other options?

They sent me some extra stuff the other week, I will try to look it out at the weekend.

If I didn't have such a fusspot I suspect I would have moved onto the pro earth stuff from mixing my own to start with. But having a fusspot forced my hand a bit!

So if palatibility wasn’t an issue, what do ye think is the ultimate support for awful feet, and also for laminitis? If I could buy the one supplement for both. There are so many options out there but I think there’s nothing like word of mouth for finding out what works and what doesn’t.
