Hello, I'm looking for some advice. A week ago my farriers apprentice trimmed my horse's hoof too short on near fore, but it wasn't obvious until later on. The next day she was very lame and farrier came back out. The shoe was removed and a silicone type padding put on the sore bit, the shoe was altered slightly before being put back on. Farrier thought she would be better in a couple of days,
It is now a week since the original shoeing and 6 days since the padding was put on the sore foot. The pony is still very sore and there is some heat in the hoof.
Has anyone else had this experience? And is it normal to take this time to recover? Is there any thing I can do to help her?
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thank you
