Here's an interesting pic I took today after turning out the pony, of one of his hoofprints superimposed on a shod print:

I think it illustrates Oberon's point nicely...

Random pic of the culprit, with 2 feet:

Had you just copper sulphated your pony's foot :) ??

Indeed: he has a touch of thrush going on.

Horsesforever1, I think that's his right fore, which is actually the dodgy foot with the narrowest frog (looks like his heel has an old injury; maybe that's affecting the growth), so I'm glad the print is attracting compliments! :)

Well if thats his "bad" one then here's to "bad " feet! That print is a lot better than an awful lot of hoof prints one normally sees.

Cheers! :) He has an excellent trimmer! :)

He needs to make a hoof-print thank-you card for the nursery kids that made him biscuits (parade 2 weeks ago, long story, pic thread was on Soapbox), and I was thinking about which hoof would make the nicest print. I somehow think it has to be a front, so it had better be the left fore!

Copper sulphate!! My highland has thush and can't clear it up, how do you use that.

Well, the actual thing I'm using is the blue "sheep foot rot spray"; not sure what it's called by brand name, but that's what the feed store knows it as. It seems to clear it up rather quickly. If it hadn't worked so fast, I would have soaked in Povidone solution first, and then sprayed.
