Lovely Northamptonshire again!

Finally, one has passed the vet. She's a lovely 7 yr old ex-race mare, and she's already settled in so calmly and has the most amazing temperament. It's a good job the saddle fitting's tomorrow, as the mare's a lot narrower than all my others!
i'm so excited, i keep waking up at 5 am and bouncing around like a kid on Christmas Day.

Yay!!!!

That is very exciting

I am still waiting to see if mine passes the second vetting after failing the first

vettings are such a nightmare. my lovely and very strict vet said of this one that she's "the soundest little horse he's vetted for years", and said that he'd flexion tested her "hard" and she was 100%. i had ultrasound scans done and everything, i'm so paranoid. hope yours passes the next one.
a friend had a horse fail, paid for 2 more vettings and it passed them both. unbelievable.

my potential horse has failed near hind flexion - so owner has got physio out (on vets advice), physio says hamstring tight and withers were also a bit tense - so he worked on them - he has to have a week off - then physio back to him, then re-vetted if physio happy... nightmare!

You very lucky yours passed straight away

now come on with those pics - load them into photobucket or something

And I can confirm she'[s one gorgeous girlie

- such a sweetie!

(Can't help on the piccy posting though cos it never works when I do it!)

she's called Katy Jones (bit of a daft name, but i might be too superstitious to change it!). she raced 4 times in NH bumpers, best placing was 3rd. no idea why they didn't hurdle her, just not fast enough i guess. she was at Noel T. Chance's yard, even i've heard of him. she's by Alderbrook who's by Ardross, which are, according to a very up-on-racing friend of mine, "a bit quirky but tough as hell". god, i hope so.

i've uploaded to photobucket, now what do i do please?

thank you. yes, she's fab, and she wasn't daft money either... i found a lovely seller who was sensible and priced her as a "work in progress" (the flatwork isn't exactly perfect yet) and didn't want silly money just because she's done 3 PNs. *rolls eyes*

the last tb i had was when i was a teenager, and he had kissing spines, and therefore a horrendous buck, and was waay too much horse for me. stupidly, i've allowed this to put me off them till now. daft, huh.
anyway, she's got the best temperament i've ever known i think, so calm and sweet. *totally smitten face*
thanks everyone.

She looks lovely - glad to know there are still people who price their eventers well, seems a few PNs under a belt and suddenly you HAVE to ask 5 figures

Hope you have loads of fun with her

And now you have mastered piccies, we need to see some of your old ones please

Ooh saw her advertised, really liked the look of her very much! She looks like a horse that really jumps for fun and will gallop all day.
Fantastic news !

I've not personally known any by Alderbrook, but i've known loads by Ardross, and almost as a rule, they are the kindest horses with the bigest hearts and the most amazing jumps!!!!
So if she's taken after her grandfather, i'll be very jealous!!

Also, i know a few people who used to work for N.Chance, so i might be able to find out about her from her racing days if you want (not that it really matters now)

i'd agree with that so far, she really is amazingly kind, no sharpness at all about her. i'm astonished, tbh.
i was told that Ardross used to lie down if he didn't want to do something... i guess that would be the gentlest possible way of getting out of it, better than bucking/kicking/rearing etc, if he had such a kind outlook!

i'd love to know a bit about when she was there, if possible, any knowledge is good as far as i'm concerned. thank you so much.

haha, i don't know what Ardross himself was like, just that his offspring are easy going etc.

will send a text to person who used to work at the yard.. obviously if she's been PN eventing, she must of left the yard a while ago?? as my friend hasn't worked there for a year or two.

she was raced in the winter of 05-06, ran 4 times in 2 mile NH bumpers from what i can discover, and the best she did was 3rd. she's a very sweet, kind, calm mare, and i guess they might remember that... she's not like any racehorse i've ever known! she's dark bay, no white at all. thanks so much! if s/he left before she got there, never mind, obviously, but i appreciate the effort.
