My horse was diagnosed with OCD last October. In December he underwent a new procedure (alcohol injections into the joint). The vet came out today, says he is pleased with progress, horse is much better and I can start riding again

I need to work out a good training programme, as he has been on paddock rest for 4.5 months. Obviously the first couple of weeks will be walk, but should I do just a hop on, round the school and back, down the track, or 20 minutes round the field?

As I didn't want to make an extra post, here is my plan for the next 3 weeks, wher I will reassess him.

(The track is the bridleway that runs through our farm)
Week 1: Walk 10 minutes 4/5 days down track (5minutes up, 5 minutes back)
Week 2: Walk 15 minutes down track OR 5 minutes in school
Week 3: Walk 20 minutes down track OR 10 minutes in school

He's not great in the school, and I'd rather keep him interested and happy for the first few weeks.
