So, following my "Drama Queen" post, after a mid-week panic and fat leg, Hopalong was back to normal and fit and well for today's arena event, phew. :)

Since we were only doing the baby 80cm class, we were on pretty sharp and with a decent drive to get there, alarm went off pretty early. Mr FigJam had only just rolled into the house at 2am having been out last night, so had to be bribed out into the passenger seat with Lucozade and Irn Bru! :p He managed to hitch up the trailer while I fed and booted Hopalong and then resumed snoozing in the passenger seat until we arrived!

Arrived in time for Mr FigJam to get stodgey brekkie roll and for me to walk the course. Got grief from Les Smith (who runs the days) for "pot hunting" in the baby class, but told him wonky donkey needed to ease back in, much as she'd much rather have been jumping the "proper" height classes! ;) We also haven't seen a skinny, corner, bounce or water tray since... a long time, so was hoping that enthusiasm would over rule any spookiness. ;)

And it did! :D She was very sensible in the warm up and walked around like a dope on a rope when waiting for our turn;

But she soon lit up when we moved to the indoor holding area and then into the main arena. :) Quick mooch past the water tray (with water in!) to let her see it (with predicted :eek: reaction from her) then we were off.

She decided the first fence was teeny and to add excitement, we could take a stride out, hence a rather amusing photo for you all to laugh at;

Gave a FlyingCoo approved growl at bright white planks as thought she may well back off, but popped over good as gold which meant the growl turned to a "good girl" quickly! ;)

Flew round the rest of the SJ section easy peasy and finished on a nice big wheeee feeling jump;

Quick circle, listen for the bell then off on the XC phase. Wheeeee over the first;

And flew round the rest really nicely- did the bounce as a bounce (instead of a 1-stride double which she is prone to doing!), didn't bat an eyelid at the corner or skinny and although she had a look at the watertray, she never felt like she wasn't going to go. :D

So really fun double clear, yay! :D However, my setting up for the water tray/skinny just to be sure cost us a little as we ended up with 1 TF, grrrr. This cost us a frilly as with the 1 TF we were 9th (rosettes to 8th naturally!). Still, very happy with her feeling so good so not going to complain about the lack of frilly. ;)

Lovely to catch up with applestroodle (and Dug of course! :D) and smurf while I was there. :)

Bet Hopalong is over the moon to be doing the fun stuff again! Next stop, the real thing? She looks fantastic and you have such a secure position :)

Thank you, she is indeed very happy to be back jumping. :D Next up is some "Team Training" with applestroodle and daveismycat (XC schooling next weekend as prep for our team XC on 11th March) which I am very excited about. :D

I sometimes get annoyed with my position as I can be too defensive and behind the movement sometimes, but Hopalong does like to keep it mixed with short strides and long strides to fences, so I need to be ready for either! :p

Super report :D a reward to the time and effort taken by you to get her back up and running, well done :D

Thank you. She is worth the waiting and stress! ;) The good times more than make up for the bad ones, fingers crossed more good times than bad to come. :)

Lots of well done again, you both are a super partnership!! :D

Thanks, was great catching up with you and Dug and roll on a very fun month of March. :D Thanks again for the yummy fresh eggs, will be making cakes later with them. :D

Lovely pics as always, but I'm afraid that Les was right. Time for some bigger fences! :D

She definitely needs bigger jumps! Look at her face, someone is loving being back out again! :D

Ha ha, there is nothing I would love more, but so paranoid what with her age/injury history etc, we will just be sticking to hooning round intros and hoping that all 4 legs hold up to that. :rolleyes: If not, I'm lopping them off and replacing with wheels/springs?! :p

She definitely has a much happier face in jumping photos than stressage ones, doesn't she?! ;)

Yay for Happily Hopping Heidi! :D

Yay is exactly what she was saying! ;) Not sure I'll get photo evidence of her next weekend getting to play XC but will try out FigJamHatCam! :D

She certainly seems to be enjoying herself eh :D Glad she's feeling so well - she's clearly missed her jumping!

I'm looking at the 80cm fences and thinking eeek!! I've entered the 75-80cm combined training at Gleneagles next month and wondering if I've lost my mind!

Cheers, I'm hoping she realises that if she keeps all 4 legs working we can keep having jumping fun?! ;) If it helps you, I did the CT there last week and wouldn't say the jumps were massively up to height, certainly not like Les' were today. In fact, those white planks in my photo were sitting on the 85cm mark on the jump wings! ;)

Well done you and H :) Will check if we can join you for some xc playing next weekend :D

Thanks again, we would love you guys to be able to join us next Sat, will let you know what the plans are and hopefully you can join us. Are B and Morgan coming too?!? :D

Love-love-love!!!!! Seeing Heidi doing what she does best (and loving it as always!) :D lots of smiles from both of you in those pics!

Cheers, she was loving it. :D (and me too! :p )

You both look like your having a fab time :D Glad hopalongs feeling better, I hope you have had words about pulling those sort of stunts :p.

So glad H recovered and was able to go eventing. Talk about drama..!!

She so loves her jumping, I think you can see her smiling. :)

Lovely to have team hopalong pony paparazzi along to take such great pics. I think you deserve a gold medal in getting him there after a heavy night. Full marks for that one!

Thanks- there will be even bigger grins in a couple of weeks time! :D I think Mr FigJam was still drunk from the night before rather than hungover when he was dragged out of the house which helped?! :p He even slept through me singing/howling along to Kelly Clarkson the whole way there! ;)

Hopalong looks like a very happy lady, def looks happy to be out jumping :D

Thank you. And even better, she appears to have suffered no ill effects after, hooray! :D

Mmmm I don't think there was any need for an FC approved growl as Hopalong was always going to whizz round!!!:D

Glad to see the jumping reports back in action even if the "tog" was feeling "under the weather":)

She looks like she is really enjoying herself!

Defo up to the next class as she clearing them with some height :)

Well done, very pretty girlie you have there :D
