Are they linked?
They always seem to send very similar emails at the same time's of day and have much the same stock in sales or items on offer. Both and I use either one fairly often, just a wonder!

Not sure but suppliers give offers to their customers so they probably use the same ones if not linked.

I've noticed it too. They appear to have the same comms strategy with weekly bestseller emails, they have the same auction approach which looks to use very similar, if not the same software.

But they have different prices and ranges. This could simply be ED are copying HV to help build their brand and reach the same audience. (I remember HV doing the bestseller email first but happy to be corrected)

They may have some sort of commercial agreement which benefits both (they may have shared the cost to develop the auction software).

Im disappointed with hope valley and have been trying not to use them lol. Took over a week for my last order to be acknowledged and then something was out of stock, no sh1t sherlock! Why not have a realistic stock system. 😠

But yes very similar but equiflair use the same system too.

I gotta admit - I've noticed similar things from them both as I was subscribed to their email newsletter. I mainly used to use Hope Valley cause they sell Eskadron and I am a big Eskadron fan, and could often find some of the older season saddlecloths on there for a pretty decent price. However, I have recently stopped using them both as it took over 3 weeks for my order to be acknowledged (I didn't order at a busy time and actually emailed beforehand to check what the rough delivery time schedule was) and then another 2 weeks to be told my order was out of stock.....and it wasn't the first time either sadly.

With Eileen Douglas, I never received a confirmation email, they happily took the funds though and it took me over a month to figure out what on earth was happening and to get my refund :(

Have had the same experience with HV, used them twice. Both times order was accepted with item showing as being in stock. Items were not in stock and took weeks to arrive, would never use again.

Hope Valley are a wee bit renowned on the forum for taking payment for orders for stuff they don't have in stock.

I used to shop online with Eileen Douglas when Eileen Douglas packed the parcels! She's grown a lot.

I've only had very good experiences with Eileen Douglas, and one very bad experience with Hope Valley. Never used them again.

Honestly! I was spending sometimes £300 a time and for months it was fine then the last 6 months have been diabolical. Ive been using smaller companies, maybe a couple of pound more per item but offer free delivery over £50

Thats another thing with HV charging for delivery when you spend a fortune lol , that annoys me 😂

Odd to hear about HV, I've used them lots and never had an issue, last week in fact and got the items in a few days!

The answer will probably be that they are all using the same sales software packages and most of this stuff is now completely automated.
.
Yep that was my presumption. Especially for the auctions. Eileen is Hampshire or that direction while Hope is up north. Both also stock a lot of Ariat because Ariat has package sales to vendors. So it means if you want XYZ which are your most popular items you have to purchase ABC which will be some
New season stuff but also will be able to be discounted as seasonal while the XYZ strong sale stuff tends not to be.

I've looked them up on Companies House and they have different owners, so do not appear to be connected. I live close to Eileen Douglas, so tend to go into the shop if I need anything from them. have not had any issues with hope valley orders

I had really slow orders from HV twice recently but went back to them as they had really good deals on the things I needed and for the last three orders I can't fault them, they've been really quick.

ED I've found really quick and often post the same day I order.

I've not had bad experiences with either that I can think of. I did once buy a bridle for my daughter for christmas that took FOREVER to arrive and then they sent the completely wrong one on Christmas eve! That annoyed me at the time but figured it was a one off at a busy time.
