Hopefully gelding tomorrow

Hi just a question so I’m hoping to have my lad gelded tomorrow he is a rearer atm as his coltish will he stop rearing when gelded I’m worried he might rear when his just been gelded and hurt him self x

He will be sedated so I would keep him in until his fully awake but it's worth telling the vet and they advise you on what to do.

My colt spent most of his time on his hind legs could stay up for ages, by the time he was 4 he did most days walking to his field but definitely not as much, I had him cut at 4 and he never reared again walking to the field, he only does it when his loose in the field now his 19 😂

So hopefully once the testosterone fades he will hopefully stop the rearing completely.

Exactly the same experience for me, had a mini who spent all his time on his rear legs before gelding, lashing out with his front hooves. He woke up from sedation and never reared again (he’s now 13) and it transformed him in what seemed like an instant, he became cuddly and extremely sweet and still is.
