Hopefully soring and other practices may soon be banned in US Tennessee Walker showing (article link)

OMG wish I hadn’t read that article now. ?It’s absolutely disgusting. I knew about the feet but the tails as well just makes me cry and very angry.
let’s hope it’s gets through the Senate and it’s not stalled by the change in President again.

Eliminating tail braces and tail docking (currently allowed and continuing in other breeds).

Limiting the application of the legislation to Tennessee walking, racking and spotted saddle horses

So after the ban you can still surgically alter the tail of your horse (as long as it isn't a Tennessee walking, racking or spotted saddle horse) in the US? Have I understood it correctly?

I would hope not. The quarter horse "pleasure" circuit has a reputation for doing all sorts to tails (and other hideous things)

I thought it had already been banned for a long time, just not very well enforced..?

I hope this is the end of it, but who knows - I think they should ban the big lick classes altogether, and the saddle seat where all it looks as though they do is sit on the lumbar spine and use horrendously long shanked bits.

I had no idea that the quarter horse pleasure people had horrendous practices too, how awful!

It was banned, but the lovely President Trump put a hold on the law passing after pressure by lobby groups.

I too thought it was banned but poorly enforced. Re docking, I get seriously narked every time there's another surge of gushing over the latest Budweiser advert, docking was banned as cruel in this country in 1949 with pretty severe penalties, also banning the import of docked horses unless it was due to an accident.
