Hopetoun Sections are Up!

meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!!!

And we have soupdragon the dressage diva in our section, we're doomed! ;) ah well, at least i'll be done and dusted early and able to chill out and enjoy the day watching everyone else?!

i think auchinleck was a fluke! Our dressage has been getting worse, and it doesn't help when i keep forgetting to give and retake rein in canter (and i'm sure it's that test at hopetoun as well!). Also 3 down in the showjumping is not going to help. Will have to go and look - i asked for a late time as have a fair old journey to get there. Don't have a lorry so trundling up in the pick up and trailer combo, on the day.

Saz- me too! Although might have a little assistance as won't be anyone else out on XC when I'm doing stuff, so may have Mr FJ handy to pass boots etc! I will be picking up my own number though and stuff anyone who laughs at me beign anywhere too early...! :p

RomanyMayday- that's a real shame, they did close the PN a wee while back though. I take it you don't want to attempt going on the waitlist? I think they were holding one.

soupdragon- I'm sure you will both be on form and back to your dressage diva ways with double clear jumping! :D Looks like they have indeed been kind to you and you'll not be dressaging until almost midday, I'll hopefully be back from dropping off Hopalong in her field to see you dressaging!

pepperandoran- will no doubt be down at the dressage before you! :p You will be fab I am sure, I quite enjoy DR stewarding, most folk are pretty good at attempting to be ready on time, you're not reliant on other phases running early/late and you're done early! Plus you get to blether to everyone. :)

tricksibell- do my trick and don't tell Shaunyboy you've got anything planned... element of surprise has been working on Hopalong this season! ;) Will keep my fingers crossed for you and hopefully catch you on the day.

Babybear- make sure and come say hi when you escape. :) Have fun, I did writing the other weekend at Oatridge and it wasn't too bad. If in doubt, numbers are more important than words! ;) Also, make sure and let go of the pen inbetween riders- I forgot to and by half way through the section realised how strained my hand was getting! :o Much better when I put the pen down for a break whenever I could!

Have decided it might not be so bad- will be less crowds at that time of day to see me do anything stoopid?! :D Anyone who's on site at that time in the morning will be riders too busy doing their own thing to notice me! ;) Good luck to everyone competing and hopefully see you on the day.

Fj - if ever you saw me on my old horse (bless him, dressage wasn't his thing - going in straight lines very fast was!) you certainly would not be calling me a dressage diva! First time out he jumped out of the arena, and they weren't even off the ground!! I think i can safely say sam helps me out a lot.

Hehe am on 39th in my BE100 arena - Should be about 12 noon I reckons!

Sweet talking entries secretaries does work :-)

I think FJ and others could be done, dusted, horse washed down, taken home and rider back in bed by then hehe!

Rub it in Muffin and the late start!
We will just break up the ground for you before you get going!!
I'm convinced you lace your entry forms with dirty bank notes!! Hee Hee

i'm 38th! And hoping it will be about noon before i'm in as have a 3 hour drive and not stabling over night before, so to be there in time to walk course and get ready for dressage, i think i will need to set off at 6.30 at the latest. I did ask very politely if i could have a late time to allow for travelling - so thank you entry secretary!!

Ditto everything you said there Soupdragon! We also 3 hours away...I was thinking 7am leaving - lazy girl! Much prefer this to stabling tho so all good.

FlyingCoo - Just printing off some more banknotes for Strathallan entry form...

Babybear- honest, you'll do fine. Oatridge was my first attempt at it and there were no disasters, so if I can do it, you can! :)

soupdragon- I'm sure there's plenty input from the jockey too! Hope the journey isn't too horrid, do you have company to keep you amused? (muffinthemule- same to you too!)

n_l_m- that's a lovely offer and certainly won't say no, but you did notice the bit where 1st to go in section with a 8.08am dressage time was mentioned and finished XC by 9.45am?! Or were you meaning to come and help with the blethering after?! :D ;)

Don't know if i'll have any company - suspect not as darkhorseb is going to a wedding and competing at eglinton instead, and i feel really mean asking anyone else to get up so early to sit in our smelly farm pick up for 3 hours, just to stand about holding sam when i need them. I'm very self sufficient (and sam is very chilled and laid back so easy to cope with myself) and really don't mind being a billy no mates! My friend from up north will be competing but as she's stabling the night before she's got early times and i doubt will be hanging about as has even longer journey back to inverness!

FJ - Yeah well I'm not offering to get up and plait or anything, but can certainly be around to do boots, washdowns etc. It's not that early a start if you're not taking a horse :)

Ha ha, I shall attempt to plait her on Fri night... and then turn her out and keep my fingers and toes crossed that some of them survive?! Bought some new gel today... extra hold! :D Would be great if you're about, but no worries if not, don't bust a gut dragging yourself out of bed at silly o'clock... you won't miss much by missing stressage anyway...! ;)

I'll blu-tack some spillers treats to her chest - that'll keep her nose where it's meant to be :p

Was certainly planning on coming along to watch anyway so unless something untoward happens between now and then (or it rains :D ) I'll be there :)

Oh also to everyone else. I'm not exactly going to offer myself up as a slave all day :p but if FJ introduces me to you all, I can do any needed horse-holding, tacking up, washing down etc if I'm around at the right time.

Loving the treat on chest idea- may practice that one next week, although the cheeky devil would probably manage to reach and munch it before even reaching X on the first centre line?! ;)

Be warned offering help to folk I talk to... I talk to anyone and everyone! :p We definitely need those HHO badges to reduce the risk of saying "are you FigJam/ANOther random user name?" to the wrong person! ;)

Fj - thanks but suspect you don't know what you're letting yourself in for! Sam thinks everyone is his best friend and has no idea of personal space!! Never rude but a bit in your face.

darkhorseb is going to a wedding and competing at eglinton instead!

I know can you BELIEVE these non horsey people who get married in the middle of the competition season :p Tried to see if I could possibly fit in both but as Eglinton week after I thought I could go along and pretend to be a "normal":p person for the day. But I am UNBELIEVABLY jealous of all going!! Good luck to all - will be thinking of you!
