I have just ordered some Premier Equine air cooled hind boots due to seeing some postive feedback on here for them...

however, I have just seen a post in Stable yard where a couple of people are saying they have problems with them rubbing..... my horse is a real soft egg about stuff rubbing and now am worrying that I have just extended my extensive collection of items I cannot use on him......

Please everyone... tell me they are great, I have made the right decision and they will not rub...

My lad rubs in rubber over-reach boots unless they are pull ons and has been fine in PE Air cooled boots even when his legs get hot. You should be fine

Sorry but these rub my boy quite badly and he is Connemara, don't have any problems with any other boots. Sorry

I find them quite a harsh material on the inside- they arent padded with nice squishy stuff, unlike some other boots.

My boy has ginger skin and white hindlegs so is prone to rubbing - he has white marks on his forelegs due to a couple of times of wearing tight tendon boots and I can't leave overreach boots on for long periods (e.g. out in the field)

However, I have the aircooled front and back boots and wore them all last summer jumping and they do not rub even when his legs got hot (like at Hickstead when we were both dripping with sweat

Oh pants .. will just have to see what happens. He will only be wearing them for XC, so not hours in the field... will just have to cross fingers and hope it isn't to add to the 'unusable' collection

They don't rub mine - I have the hinds. He wears them all day hunting as well and never had a problem!

The back ones rubbed and spun round on my horse, they seem to be an odd shape and are not a snug fit on the leg, hence the rubbing i guess. I use the N.E.W XC fluffy boots they are great for sensitive skin.

I have seen far more positive than negative on here.

Those that have had rubs - did you try tubigrip under them?

No - we went for the far cheaper option of buying Dalmar boots

Oh just one thing - if you stick them in the washing machine make sure they are on delicate wash and low spin. I used my Dyson twin drum washing machine and it was too powerful and they disentigrated (sp?) but I spoke to PE and sent them back and they sent out a brand new pair

I love mine, not got a ba thing to say about the boots, i have the full set and love them my lad wears them pretty much every time ridden and have never rubbed.

Does the tubigrip not just negate any cooling effect which they may have?

i have never had a problem with PE they have always been more than helpful. i have a full set of air cooled boots which i use for turnout and they have never rubbed, would happily buy them again
