Zoom is suffering terribly at the moment. When she is in season (she lives out with 20 others so it seems to happen alot!) she becomes soooo sensitive. She flinches when I brush her and becomes so hot to ride.

I know alot of people use stroppy mare.......but she's not stroppy. She is just a bit sore and sensitive. She does occassionally put ears back at other horses but, hand on heart, she has NEVER shown any aggression towards me in the two years I've had her. She's such a poppet

Are there any supplements that will just help her aches, kind of a feminax for ponies?!

My friend had a Welsh D mare who was a bit like that when in season ...she was not a stroppy or moody mare but when in season very sensitive and could be funny doing the girth up etc and could be naughty to ride and bucked a bit actually bucked alot

we did use a supplement, it was Wendals Moody Mare... it helps with hormonal mares... it did calm her down and did help.

Also try giving these a ring and they may have a product which will help, he is very helpful.

Have you explored in having her overies checked for possible cysts? ...again could be another reason why she is suffering a bit.

Thanks Kenzo! I think it's a mix of everything since she is a terrible headshaker too. That webpage was helpful and has given me a few ideas.

Anything to make her more comfy!
