One man and 4 horses dead, his wife airlifted to hospital.
The other 2 horses and 2 surviving dogs are at Alaqua (the place who has Champ for those who remember him) for treatment

Apparently their right front tyre blew
Heartbreaking for the families

Oh that's so sad, it makes you think how quick and unexpectedly life can be taken from you and your animals.

That is just horrible, poor people, poor horses and poor dogs. I can't even begin to think how the survivors are feeling

Little update from Alaqua -
Thanks for all your interest in the animals we are caring for from yesterday's tragic accident on I-10. We have learned that the two horses, which are beautiful hunter/jumpers, are named GQ and Utah. They are hanging in there, but their muscles are weakened from the accident and the resulting stress. Dr. Williams slept in the barn with them last night, and she, along with Laurie, Jerry and team continue to care for them. The dogs are Paco and Sophia - Sophia is 14 and is not doing as well as Paco. More to come soon. Thanks to everyone for your support!


Looks like the managed to save both dogs for the time being after all!
Driver is in critical condition according to latest news too.
Still thinking of them all xx

Oh this poor poor little cat must be so very frightened

IMPORTANT MESSAGE: There was a small gray/tabby manx (cat with no tail) that was in the vehicle that crashed on I-10 at mile marker 88, two miles east of DeFuniak yesterday. Bandit is its name and it fled after the accident. Please share the message and if you are in the area, please look for her. If you find her, or even spot her, call 850-880-6399. Thank you!
