As the title really....my weekend was horrible! Fee has taken to stopping, i dont think there is anything wrong, i think she is just trying it on. I get the feeling she is seeing how far she can push things, it is really frustrating.

The first class went OK, until she spooked at a filer (which in iteself is unusual) and i kicked on, she cleared the fence by miles and in the process smacked me in the face with her neck. This really upset her, and she got a little worked up and i found it difficult to steady her, meant we had two stops further along and of course elimination. Plus i was seeing spots for a while!

I thought id still jump the next class, the second round, after all it was the one i went to do. Well, i couldnt even get over the first fence. I tried to think about why, it was a big oxer away from the collecting ring with a scarey filer, but to be honest i think she took the p*ss.

I guess we all have problems huh? I'm just a little disheartened.... im going to get her back and teeth checked just incase, but has anyone got any suggestions - or been through this before?

Id get her back etc checked out

Dee had been going brill recently then at the last event, in SJ she just completely obliterated the first fence and was refusing etc, so unlike her

turned out her whole back was twisted or summat, so get her checked out

hope shes back on form soon

Sorry to hear this, but I doubt there is too much wrong that a couple of confidence giving rounds at lower heights won't soon put right

I suspect your confidence took a knock along with your nose and your mare has picked up on it. Then, with your confidence already low, you decided that the second round was even more scarey than it already was and the rest is history.

The great thing about SJ'ing is that you be down one week and back on top of the world the next

Yep agree with Rambos good advice... plus you're doing all the checks and having a lesson this week, so im sure by next time your confidence will be back up and you'll be fine

jumping a couple of smaller classes sounds like a good plan too

Worth getting all areas checked. It only takes something a little off to cause significant problems. The something could be anything from back out to a change in the way you are riding.
The good news is that a small change the other way will often fix the problem.
Just dont let your mind dwell on it.
