We have a few young teenagers at new yard thought best get right side, I invite them watch me lunge Dermot. There parents follow.... They ask if he can jump...I tell them that hes got a lovely but babyish scoopy jump. Tell them hes quite confident and brave...Jumping 1.35m odd.... Said if they wanted they could bring jumps in...............................
Won't even go within 5yards of a pole on the floor

lol!! It will all come in time!!

He is gorgeous!!

Reminds of me of saturday when potential sharer came for nutty TB! Having told her to ensure she had own insurance and he had an almighty bronc and buck in him, he plodded out like a donkey!

tehehe, they time crisises perfectly dont they!! well to make you feel jelouse!! we put poles out for libs and she was great, if a bit fizzy, tried her without a noseband and she opened her mouth so wide!!!

Why did I do it to my self? Why didn't I get a lovely ready made horse!? Why didn't I just keep Liberty!!

Oops - I thought he was young. Still sounds like a bad day, where you were over your head. You can not get emotional about it though, blame the horse, seek revenge etc - that is the ugly side of riding.

Not at all. Very chilled. Theres me still on lunge end hanging on for dear life... "whaooo boysie....Whao....There a brave boy...* Athlough when he shows hes back end I am stricted. I don't need him knowing hes own strenght afteral! I think will forget any bsja jumping hopes for now I work on dressage plans....

Why on earth shelve the BSJA plans - he has a fantastic jump! The knack is to never ever do anything on a whim with youngsters, have your sessions planned and do not deviate - and do not do anything simply to *show off* the horse to others, it always ends in tears.

Get a saddle on him and get the ridden work under way - stimulate him

Yup I'm not leaving Bsja plans but not going to start my ground work yet...*planned to pop him over jumps today to start ground work* I did in the end get him going over a cross about 20cm off the ground. Tomo will work him in side reins and day after go for a walkies. Let him settle before starting to mount. No rush for any of that I'd rather he was well settled.
