Just an update on previous post (http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?630388-Horrid-Night)

Got up early and went to the stables to see how sore and stiff my horse was; I got there to find him flat out asleep in his field.

Shortly after, he was up and moving about, a little sore but nothing much considering he hasn't had any anti inflammatories or bute. I left him for a few hours and returned later on in the day to find him happily walking round with no lameness, stiffness or pain.

I decided to put him in a new field where he proceeded to gallop off and have a leap around.

Here are some pictures of his injuries; as you can see he's scraped, swollen and has a lot of heat in his fetlock, hock, pastern and cannon, all-in-all I think he incredibly lucky to get away so lightly; the horsey Gods obviously didn't want him in the big stable in the sky yet!

That is one lucky horsey ... Buy some mesh ( wickes) and cable tie it to the inside of the gate ..legs stuck in gates r my worst nightmare .. I have seen a horse snap his leg in a gate like that ..really not nice :(

Thank you for the replies, he's back to his normal self now; all swellings/heat has dispersed and he's started to grow hair back over the grazes.

I've now added mesh to the inside of every gate at the yard, so hopefully it won't happen again!
