Well tonight turned out to be very dramatic. Disney decided to unhinge a metal 6 bar gate and then drag the whole thing with his back legs 100m across his field. How he still has 4 legs intact I'll never know. So far we have a very hot and swollen hock and fetlock with lots of lost hair and scraps. Luckily he only has a 5mm cut on his knee which isn't a problem. He'll be very stiff and sore tomorrow, but he'll never know how happy I am to still have him here.

Here he is enjoying his dinner about 30 mins before

Yikes, the thought of it made my stomach turn! Hopefully he won't be too sore and will have learnt his lesson :( How scary for you!

Heck, very worrying. Hope he is ok. My mare went to jump a five bar gate a few years ago, then changed her mind and put down with her forelegs through the gate. Thankfully it was an old gate and had rusted a bit, so it broke rather than her, but my heart was in my mouth.

He's totally fine bar the swelling and grazes. Luckily he's not the type of horse to panic in situations like that, so once his hoof was free he just stood there a little shocked!
I brought him in and he was just his normal self. Even danced about while I cold hosed him!
