WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HORSE AGENT/DEALER

Agent would have contacts of other people that had horses for sale,Dealer would have own yard with horses for sale

WHAT IF SO CALLED AGENT HAD THE HORSE AND SOLD IT WITH THEIR NAME DOWN IN PASSPORT AS OWNER?

Bought horse had 5 stage vetting which it passed. Month later horse was diagnosed with ringbone. Dealer is saying that they are an agent so not responsible.

So who did you pay?? Agent should give you owners number.Did you not speak to owner before you bought horse?

Also have you had vet check blood test taken when vetted?

Could be a very slippery slope this one as Im pretty sure that the passport doesnt legally represent ownership....just the 'keeper' of the horse.

Did YOU engage the vet to do the vetting and did you get bloods done?

No the dealer is not in Yorkshire and yes the bloods were tested and came back negative. It was only when I was handing over the money, it stated on the receipt that she was selling on behalf of someone else.
