Ugh I can't believe it, I posted two days ago saying that bad things happen in threes, I was just waiting for the equine hicup, now here it is!
Went for a lovely hack out today with Oshk, took a shortcut back up the field as DaddyDave said I could, gave him a long rein but he started jogging so I collected him up. He was getting a stroppy head on and just stopped dead. My horse is VERY responsive so I gave him a teeny weeny squeeze on the side and he reared up into the air, and then leapt forwards off all fours, pushing me backwards and then bucked three times, third time twisting, trowing me sideways so both legs were over the right hand side of the saddle, smacking my face as I went.

I managed to swing my leg back round and then he bolted, it took me about 300yards to stop him and my back was really really hurting from being thrown backwards.
I had a biiiig nose bleed, bit of a chipped tooth and my back hurts quite a lot. I honestly can not believe him, he hasn't tried anything like that out hunting or anything, it was honestly the kind of green buck you expect from a youngster, but with the power from an 8yo experienced powerhouse, I hav never been that far off of the floor before- if he could jump like that we would be going to the bloody Olympics, I can't stress how far he pinged!!!!!

It has really shocked me, I never expected my horse to do that, his back and teeth are fine, my mum has said he is just feeling very good, as he is fit as a butchers dog now.

I have had same thing .I bought a tb behaved like a cob for 6 mths very underweight and unfit got him back to fitness and a good weight and he does huge cat leaps if he is feeling fresh. He needs working 6 days a week to keep sane especially in the spring.Hes on rest at moment for surgery on hock fusion and still leaping in restricted turnout.God help me once he comes back to work.Best get back on tommorrow before your nerves kick in.

Ha, I have some already! I was pretty proud I clung on, I'm usually great at decking it after a good buck, so I cant believe I sat to it, something would have been broken if I had fallen from that wobbler, without a doubt!!
