I pay mine quarterly by direct debit - it has increased by £3 per quarter and they didn't even write to me to advise me

bit cross to be honest - I didn't think they could just put the price up without advising you first. Feel like cancelling to be honest

Anyone else had this?

I'm fairly certain that they have to inform you they're increasing the cost. All UK banks are covered in the Direct Debit guarantee which I think means you can get an immediate refund if you've been overcharged. I may be wrong but speak to your bank tomorrow and see what they can do.

It would really annoy me too if they took more money than I was expecting. I've just found this on British Bankers Association website (www.bba.org.uk). Hope it's helpful. I'm not sure whether it means you can get a refund so best to ask your bank.

"The Direct Debit Guarantee:

If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, the organisation collecting the payment will notify you normally 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed

If an error is made by the organisation or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid"

Thanks for that Lizzie- will check it out. Don't seem to get much for being a loyal subscriber these days - they put the price up when they feel like it and don't tell you. New subscribers get a discount and a present
