Hi everyone,
Im looking to get a painting done of my pony rocky for christmas

does any one know of any good animal artists ? Im having a little bit of touble finding one !

I can highly recommend an artist called Michelle McCullagh who painted my mare (photo in my avatar); it's incredibly life-like. Google her, she has a website.
 
A very good friend of mine is an animal artist (specifically horses) however she is rather expensive, I payed around the £300 for my large watercolour. She is very good though, and my painting is shockingly like the real thing! google Sue Wingate and it's the field galleries link if you're interested! or pm me!

If you want an incredible picture, but certainly not cheap, then speak to Aron Gadd. Here's a link to his website with samples of his work. He's my daughter's mentor.

If it is specifically a horse you want painting then The Society of Equestrian Artists website is a good place to start- it lists 100s of equestrian artists with online galleries of their work, links to their websites and contact details- I'm sure you would be able to find someone to suit your taste and budget

There are also lots of talented artists on HHO- there is a thread here containing lots of examples of work produced.

I paint horses but I am expecting a baby in a few weeks so have had to get all my Christmas commissions done early this year and can not take on any more work until the New Year now. It's the busiest time of year so don't be discouraged if you need to try a few people to find someone that can fit you in!

My husband does this, you can see his work at www.mark-langley.com

He is a member of the society of equestrian artists mentioned above. He will also be at Your Horse Live in a few weeks if you wanted to see his work in the flesh, he did Burghley this year too.

He is working on his christmas commissions already so he is hoping to get them done early and fit an extra couple in, (he normally has some enquiries in late november and has to turn them down due to being too busy) so if you get in touch quick he could probably fit you in for Christmas.
 
thankyou everyone for all your help, gosh so many to choose from its going to be difficult picking one will see whos available to do one ! after christmas hopefully il post a picture of it
