Sorry I missed your OP but I'm so glad that he should be home tomorrow. What a fantastic birthday present.
Twice (2 different horses) I've called the vet for colic and the horse has actually recovered before the vet got there, on one occasion the vet didn't even give any meds. I'd much rather that than the alternative.
