Just a word of warning to everyone in Norfolk (south norwich) area. One of my frineds horses was attacked with a knife whilst in the field between 3pm-6pm yesterday afternoon. The police have been notified and have been brilliant.

The vet came out straight away and poor little horse had in excess of 15 seperate wounds some more than a foot long and so deep most had to be stapled.

There were a futher 3 horses in the field 2 of which suffered small cuts.

I can't believe any human can do somthing like this to any other living creature. It has made me feel terribly sick.

Please be vigilant.

Omg that terrible some people are just plain sick!! i hope the horse is ok and they find the person who did it. Was there any witnesses?

Thought to owner and "get better soon" to gee gee.

My horse was attacked when we lived in Bedfordshire a couple of years back :(

Police were awful "no witnesses so we cant do anything" attitude.

My poor babe had cuts on her face which needed to be stitched. Vets came out straight away and I remember them sedating her in her stable and her leaning on me (god she was heavy!!!) I had blood and 'cleaning fluid' running down my arms and onto my clothes.

She recovered well and no real signs of damage done. Keep thinking it could have been a hell of a lot worse and thank my lucky stars it wasnt. Also the fact that she is a right stroppy mare and probably gave them a good kicking keeping them away from our other horses.

OMG that is shocking. What deranged moron would do that? In broad daylight too?

I saw the thread recently with the photos of the big cat attack, the claw marks looked a bit like knife lacerations. The wounds couldn't be that could it??
