Where and when are the sales in East Anglia that would be suitable for a TB gelding? And does anyone know what the drill of putting a horse in an auction is?

I really need my chap in a new home asap - he is a lovely boy, but as I do not have any tack for him and people can not ride him it seems to be putting every interested party off completely.......
..... Please do not judge me, as I really really do not want to, but I am starting to think about putting him in an auction sale - I feel this may be my only option - obviously I want to get what I can for him and it is so upsetting, as he is a truly lovely boy.

He is 100% ridable as far as he has not suffered any injury etc.... but not ridable as I do not have anything to ride him with (no saddle/bridle)!!

I turned him away post racing purely to unwind and had to buy him a whole new wardrobe before winter and then I became pregnant (6months ago), so knew I was not going to bring him back into work anytime soon- hence no saddle!

He is 6 years old and 16.2hh. I advertised him originally for £1200 and it is now down to £800...... I feel this is a complete bargain, as I know he is a genuine chap and should make a good all rounder for someone- I have had plenty of emails, but thats as far as it gets!

If he does not go in the next week I will have to put him in an auction sale.

Racing name? Picture? Too late for Tattersalls.
Your best bet will be the Ascot TB sales at the end of February but you will have to get your entry in quick as the entries close soon.
Google Brightwell Ascot sales- all details will be on there.

It is where all the cheapo TB's out of racing are sold.

No I turned him straight away to chill out - every intention of bringing him back into work this year and competing him in the future - but I am now 6 months pregnant and that is not going to happen!

If anyone is interested please PM me (I really do not want to take him to the sales) - I can send photos via email. He is hansome, sound and blemish free- just no tack!.........

I will take a look at the auction web sites you have all suggested and see what the drill is and if I can get him in one. It will have to be in the next week or two, as I am also selling my trailer and will not be able to get him there if it is left any longer.

Many thanks for your help.
