Do you think there would be a market for horse B & B?

Thinking of buying a business that is 15 minutes from Somerford Park. The property has a self contained annex that could be rented out as a holiday let but there could also be a spare stable or two for horses.

So, if say you've always wanted to take your horse round Somerford but it is just that too far to do in a day, would you consider coming to stay at a set up like this and maybe making a weekend of it?

How much would you expect to pay for a stable for a night or two? There would be no mucking out, literally turn up, chuck horse in, drag out next day and away you go.

I'm putting together a business plan and am wondering whether this would be a good proposition. TBH, I wouldn't expect it to generate much income but would like an idea if many people would be interested.

Horse b&b is a good idea but does Somerford already do accomondation? - (or am i confused with the active rider camps)... also would you have room for horse box, trailer parking? how close to the pub/take aways are you? etc
 
Yes, Somerford do have accommodation if you are competing or at a camp, whether you can have it if you just do the farm ride or hire the XC course, I'm not sure.

As for close pubs etc. Yes, 2 miles to the nearest town centre and again yes to trailer/box parking.
CCTV is also set up, so as safe as it can be.

I would also be prepared with vet numbers, blacksmiths, a 101 various bits of tack that will always be forgotten, a good hgv mechanic and be prepared for trying to be dragged into loading the problem loader..... dont wish to rain on your parade... but these are the things that your buisness plan wont accomodate... also bounced cheques, tv's removed - damage to beds, sofas and the possibility of being sued for someone falling over drunk when getting into said chalet... smoking is another mine field - and again i am not trying to be negative but each and every one of these has happend to me and my immediate family where holiday lets have been involved.

Can dogs come?

GW - Yes to dogs (own garden) and kennel (if required). I have been a landlady before but not holiday lets .... can it be any worse????
