my youngster has become footy in the last week.
shes never had shoes on and always stomped over everything despite having slightly flat feet.
the only change i can see in the hooves is the front frogs look more ragged and smaller than normal...
they used to be like the hinds (white hooves)
i have also noticed on the hinds there is a small v shape in the frog at gthe back near the heel..?

I'd treat for thrush, personally. It's been rife with all the wet weather we've had. Those hinds look good, but the fronts look a little weak in the back of the foot imo. That may also improve if you can get rid of any bugs lurking there.

I reckon they are looking ace,but worth hitting any thrush before it takes hold. I use Red Horse products and NTDry.
Re the stones. You can use a nail or small screwdriver to dislodge any stubborn ones and an expert trim(or riding on loose stones) and diet tweaks can stop them returning.

I've been scrubbing them clean with miltons and then packing with artimud a few times a week.
Sadly the field is water logged, the only dry place is the shelter so she tends to stand in there with the other horse....it gets rather pooy even tho its cleared 2-3x day... I've put their hay in the least boggy area of the field to try to keep them out and moving.
They come in between 2-9 hrs on concrete yard or a shavings bed.
She is just feeling big stones, which she was fine with before.....
Will increase the scrubbing to daily?

Diet wise
She has pro hoof
Linseed meal
Fast fibre
And yeasac

The hooves have become less flat on this (started this about two months ago)
But even on her old diet of molasses chaff and competition mix she never felt footy.....
Guess the wet weather is playing havoc!!

Could it be a bit of richness in the grass? I have noticed recently near us the grass is bright green and growing already because of the warmer weather.

I think it must be the weather. Even my 4yo with superb feet has been a bit footy over difficult surfaces. It sounds like you're doing all you can, just pray for a dry spell!

Us barefooters tend to focus on the feet when things are not quite right. A problem higher up will make the horse seem footy. It might be worth getting a chiro or physio to check him over. I have often thought it was feet and its turned out to be back and with all the mud,a slip in the field is not out of the question.

She's been working really well in the school, today she learn traver.
She feels very loose and supple as normal, and I have scruntinised her legs just in case...
I doubt its grass related, she's been out on six acres ankle deep in summer and it hasn't made her sensitive .... Also the poor field is mostly brown sloppy mess :(
Please let it be mega dry, I'm fed up of this soggy weather....
