My boy has up until a few days ago been great for picking up his feet. But now refuses to pick up his near fore. Obviously i need him to pick them up so i can pick them out but he also has infections that need treating. Any hints to get him to pick it up? (I've spent almost an hour trying to get him to lift it with no luck!)

If you think its because of his infection and treatment you could go back to basics that when he picks up a foot you reward him with a treat.

IF not my cob was terrible so if he didnt pick it up and he to take two steps backwards and I would try again. As soon as he picked his foot up he was walked back to where we started. After a couple of days he got the idea.

I think it's quite possible it's the treatment (apparently it would have been quite sore for him) it baffled me that he would pick them up at their sorest but once nearly cleared up he stopped. I'll try going back to the basics and see if there's any luck :-)

loop a lead rope around his ankle and gently pull, when he lifts, hold it there for two secs and then let down and reward, keep doing this till he gets the hang of it.
