Nearly time for ponio to be in a night, straw at the livery is free , but last year i used shavings all winter , found them so much easier to muck out in a morning when rushing to get to work , this year funds are a bit tighter , does anyone use paper or cardboard ? is it cheaper than shavings ? and who would you recommend around Norfolk - Suffolk ? .
other wise i will maybe use a few shavings underneath the straw , thanks for any help .

Have you thought about using wood pellets?

Cheap, easy to muck out and the big bonus for me is the complete lack of smell!!

A pallet load really doesn`t take up much room if you can`t find a local supplier and will save you ££££
