My daughters pony is really wet, what's the best bedding for this
Currently on rubber mats with shavings, he's in a relatively small stable , grey pony gets really stained with the pee 😳😬

Wood pellets. They have transformed the bed of my very wet mare.

Or, miscanthus

Have used it for years, occassionally I try something else but for me nothing beats it.

I have mares that whilst tidy in their stable are quite wet and the miscanthus is really absorbent.

Have heard that auboise, megazorb, easibed are good, !!! Nobody I know uses them so not too sure what's best

Have tried megazorb amd auboise, they are good, but there are more cost effective options that are just as good.

Where do you buy the miscanthud from?

Aubiose or other hemp/miscanthus fine bed.

You need to deep litter. My mare is awfully wet but keeps a dry bed on this stuff but has to be deep litter. 1ft of bed cleaned of solid daily but wet left and cleaned monthly (sometimes more!).

I use a combination of shavings and Equinola (chopped rape straw) for my wet horse. What I have found best is to only have rubber mats covering the front half of the stable. Where he wees is at the back left hand corner and I have removed the mats from there. Seems far easier to muck out and bed stays far cleaner (no idea why!!). Bed is deep and I clean out wet every Sunday morning.

Where do you buy the miscanthud from?

Either direct from supplier or a decent local feed/farm store should stock it - I use Caviera but there are other brands

Sundown Yellow or Eco Comfy Bed were the best I found for a wet horse!! Or wood pellets
