A rather unimaginative but generous pal has just told me I'll be getting an Amazon voucher for Christmas, looking forward to spending it.....

Any suggestions for light but well-written books? Mainly hunting and "practical horseman" stuff as themes, no real interest here in the racing, SJ, dressage, showing side of things!

Thanks in advance!

By way of payback....if any of you have a 7 to 9 YO to buy books for, A Pony in The Luggage is my nap - all about 2 Swedish children who get taken to Copenhagen by their grandmother, win a pony in a raffle and smuggle it home by train. Utterly charming, out of print but easy to get on Amazon s/h.

I recommend New Sensations For Horse And Rider by Tanya Larrigan. It is inspiring if you are stuck in a rut, very interesting and easy to read.

Great ideas, thanks guys.....anything along hunting memoirs or memories spring to mind? Or "townies do horses"...that's always funny!

I haven't got this but it is on my Christmas list as it seems to be described as the bible by most horsey people I know... Its Veterinary Care of the Horse by Sue Devereaux the full version which is about 700 pages. Any and every ailment and practical ways on how to treat.

Dancing with your dark horse by Chris Irwin. Fantastic natural horsemanship type book - it was my bible when I first got my horse.
